Emeric Turns ONE!

Well as they say time flies when you are having fun.  Emeric turned one on September 19th, 2010.  The five of us spent a fun day just hanging around the house.

At his doctor's appointment (a few days after his birthday) he was 19 pounds 15 ounces and 29 1/4 inces long.  They said that he was in the 10th percent for his weight which seems weird to me because he seems so big.  He is a pound heavier and an inch shorter than Connor was at one.

Emeric on the left and Connor on the right.

Emeric pulls himself up on the furniture, but doesn't really walk along them yet.  He will let go and stand on his own for a little while.  He still does a funny crawl, but much more often he does a normal hands and knees crawl.  He has nine teeth with one more just about through.  He eats just about everything put in front of him and he got to have milk for the first time once he turned one.

For the most part he sleeps through the night, or at least I don't hear him if he wakes up.  He is still taking two naps a day.  Bedtime is about 7:00 PM or just a little sooner and he often wakes up between 7:00 and 7:30 AM.  He enjoys playing outside, crawling around playing with toys, swinging and playing in the sandbox.  He is very vocal when he is not getting what he wants.  He will spend most of the day screaming at me if I am not holding him.  For his birthday he received some clothes, a boat for the bathtub, a toolbox, a train, a puzzle, a blanket and some trucks.

He had a number one shapped carrot cake which he wasn't shy at getting into.

Brian held it close to him while we sang and Emeric was scraping the frosting off of it.

Then he was clawing chunks out of it.  Brian broke him off a big piece and sat it on his highchair tray.  He picked up the entire piece and tried to shove it into his mouth.

He really liked it.  It was a blessing to be able to watch him grow this first year.  I am really looking forward to the joy of watching him over this second year.

yeah that is weired on only being in the 10 percent when he is 19 pounds. Mine were about 15 pounds at 1 year and were in the 3rd percent. I now wonder what the average size of a 1 year old is suppose to be. Makes my kids look even smaller He is such a cutie.
