August - Photos of Kids

It seemed that while on vacation I did not do a very good job of pulling out the camera.  I will need to work better at that now that we are home.  Here are August's photos of the kids.

The Nice Nines

This past Friday Angela turned 9!

I am a bit in shock that she is 9, the shock did not come until after a phone call from my mother.  She proceeded to remind me that next year Angela will be in double digits and that she is now half way to 18 (scary).

Angela and I were talking about ages and she talked about terrible twos and I said they are also terrible threes.  We were trying to come up with a name for the nines and the first thing to come to mind were the naughty nines and I said we were not going to have a year of naughty.  She came up with the nice nines, so far she is right.

She had a really good birthday.  She woke up to a breakfast of waffles with fresh strawberry jam.  That afternoon was spent at the beach.  She was able to bring a friend and the two of them splashed and swam and played till they were exhausted from the water and sun.  We had a dinner of ravioli in alfredo sauce with cauliflower and sausage.  Then we got to enjoy her hamburger birthday cake.
Last year she had a french fry birthday cake and this year the hamburger.  I wonder what next year will bring?  Her birthday was finished up by opening up her birthday presents.  She received: some shirts, a jacket, a watch, a dress, a cd, some jewlery, rollerblades, a fur real kitten, lots of books, two zhu-zhu pets and a barbie.  (If I missed something - sorry).
All in all I think she had a really good birthday.  We are super proud of her and who she has grown into these past nine years.  We are really looking forward to seeing what this next year will bring for her.

Emeric at 11 Months

Emeric is 11 months and it feels like so much has changed.  Mostly I think that is because Brian got to see him for the first time in two months and I got to see everthing that was new with Emeric through Brian's eyes.  Emeric is 19 pounds or right around there.  He army crawls sometimes but is now mostly doing some weird knee/foot crawl.  He pulls himself up into a standing position quicker than you can blink.  If anything is just the right height he will pull himself up until he is laying or sitting on it.  He can climb up stairs which is a problem at our house.  He has no qualms about getting dirty, actually the dirtier the better.  He enjoys playing in the water and swinging.  He has a huge appetite and is eating so many different foods that I won't even bother trying to post them all.  It makes me laugh watching Brian feed him.  When Angela was young there was not sugar/sweets for her.  Now, Brian is sneaking Emeric cake, cookies, ice cream, etc.  Emeric loves to give great big huge open mouth kisses.  That is my favorite thing of his at 11 months old.

Game Swap Is In

Last week I recieved my box of games from Mamarazzi's Game Swap.  It was packed full of games!  Memory that is set at Connor's age, but was a lot of fun for Angela and I too.  War, Old Maid, Rage and New Moon card games.  Lastly Toss Up dice games which came with a cute little travel case and therefore is sitting in my purse right now.  It was a lot of fun opening it up and finding all these new games to play with.
I hope that my partner enjoyed her three games.  We sent her Family Fluxx, LCR (Left Right Center), and Dinner Time Games.  I own the first two, but will be looking for the other game for our family.

This swap was a lot of fun, but I now realize that doing a swap while on vacation was not my best idea.  I was able to get the package out on time, but I missed a few of the other requirments.  I was supposed to get this post out the week after the swap and that was about three weeks ago.  I was supposed to have the fancy button that would link you back to the swap which I could not figure out how to do, so I just put a simple link it.  I feel bad about not getting all of the extra things completed but at least my partner got her package.  Now I am off to play Old Maid with the kids.
