For our "N" Date we had a little bit of trouble trying to figure out what to do. We batted around a few ideas but before we new it the end of the month was almost here. We decided to have a Nautical dinner. I had purchased a meal of lobster tails, snow crab claws, clams and corn on the cob. The company freezes everything, packs it, and ships it next day to you. We put the kids to bed a little early this past Saturday and enjoyed our nautical food. It was really yummy. Brian surprised me by topping off the meal with a bottle of champagne. That really made it a good time, especially since we were staying in for this date.

Door County
On October 5th - 7th we went camping in Door County, WI. It is the little thumb like part of the state that sticks out into Lake Michigan. We went up there because we had heard it was absolutely beautiful, especially in the fall. We also went up there because we had hoped to take our boat out into Lake Michigan so that we could say we had boated on a great lake. It was quite chilly and cold up there. The kids never seemed to mind. They just put on their extra layers and headed out to explore and build forts and whatever else kids do when they have mostly free reign. Then when they got too cold they would come back for a snack and some hot cocoa. We wanted to take the boat out on Saturday but the wind was up and the waves we absolutely way too high. We ended up just driving around and sight seeing.
It was a great weekend for just relaxing and having some quiet, family downtime. Not to mention it was wonderful visiting all of the wineries, breweries and distilleries that were up there!

Emeric Turned 3
Boy do things change in such a short amount of time. Just a couple of years ago I was snuggling this little bundle of baby that just loved me because I was there. Now he is this big bundle of boy that says he doesn't love me because I put him in time out. He is three years old but wishes he was older because he wants to go to school just like Angela and Connor. He has worn a swim suit of some sort every day since March. When we go to church he puts on his suit and then wears his church clothes over it. That is the same for when it is cold, either his swim suit is under his warm clothes or if he is feeling feisty the suit is on top of them. He loves water parks which is good since we have been going to them once about every three to four months since he was born. That is what we ended up doing for his birthday, we got a hotel room in the Dells and played at the water park the entire evening we got there and for the whole next day. He was asleep before we even left the parking lot. It was a great time for the whole family!
There he is with his "water park" cupcake cake.
Yes, those are all happy faces! He was a very happy 3 year old!

September Photos of the Kids
On the first day of school, while all the kids were sleeping or gone, I filled up 12 dozen water balloons. Then as soon as they got home from school we got into our swim suits and had a great time attacking each other!
Angela, Emeric, Brody and Connor getting ready to have some fun!
The boys, Emeric and Brody, are guarding their water balloon pile.
You better run a little faster Angela, Connor is right behind you.
It is so much fun to get your sister with the water balloons!
That is....until she gets you back!
One day, when Brian got home from work a little earlier than normal, we decided to play a little game. They kids and I all got our (large) squirt guns ready
we gave dad his (small) noisy cricket
and we proceeded to have a great squirt gun fight! The kids had a blast getting Brian and I. Then for awhile it turned into all of them against me. I kept trying to get it to be all against dad but that didn't work too well. At the very end Brian dumped the water bucket all over Angela.
Unfortunately, now the weather is a little too cold for playing like that. Until next Spring when things warm up......

Massages
Ohhhhhhhhh our "M" date was exquisite! (I don't know that Brian would have used that word, but I know he really liked it too!)
We started out getting a half hour mini-facial immediately followed by an hour long couples massage. When we got done we went out looking for dinner. This was in a neighboring town so we were not familiar with the places to eat and we got a recommendation from the front desk girl. On our way to the restaurant we got side tracked by a sign offering free wine tasting. This was a little brewery that was more fruity sweet wines. Not too bad. At the restaurant....OH!....we had a great meal! We started out with baked Bree in a sauce of roasted red peppers and other goodness. Then we had a cup of carrot potato soup - YUM. Dinner was a jerk chicken sandwich it wasn't too bad but then I got drawn into the special board. Sea Scallops. Off course I needed to try those. They were in a sauce with another sauce on top and they literally melted in your mouth. The flavor combinations were phenomenal. I think I could have stayed there all night just eating plate after plate of those. They were the highlight of my night. We slowly started making our way back to the car when this store front caught our eyes. It had looked closed when we first walked by but not it was all lite up. Con Amici Wine Bar. What a fun little place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. We found out they had only been open a couple of weeks. We are glad they were there because it finished off our date nicely. Plus, we already plan on heading back. Cheers!

Jamison's Visit
Scott and Chris came for a visit back in August. It was their first time in Wisconsin. We had such a great time having them here. We got to show them all around town including many local parks, the levee trail, the Popcorn Corner, and Lake Wisconsin. We spent much of our time just relaxing and enjoying each others company. Unfortunately they did not get lots of time with Brian because he was on storm for two days and had to work another two. But he did end up getting a long weekend with them. We spent one evening celebrating all three of the kids' birthdays. They got to open presents and we had a yummy ice cream party with just about every topping imaginable. It was really a sugar overload so of course the kids loved it!
We greatly miss them now that they are gone. Our plans should bring us to WA next summer so until then......We Love You!
